Contemporary Lowcountry cuisine featuring fresh local produce, seafood and game, prepared with a French accent. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the ingredients, unique presentations and sophisticated textures. Local ingredients include rabbit, oysters, crabmeat, shrimp, fish, duck, greens and grains. |
AMBIANCE:
Paneled walls, herringbone floors, softly padded carver chairs and local folk art blend with live jazz to create an elegant, but casual setting. The private Vintner's Room features walls of glass-fronted wine cellars showcasing its impressive stock of vintages from around the world. The enclosed outdoor courtyard provides a lush oasis for romantic dining on balmy southern nights. |
WINE & SPIRITS:
The over 1,000 label wine list is centered on a core selection of the finest wines available from the United States and Europe. The cellar, at over 19,000 bottles, has an estimated retail value of over 2 million dollars. The focus of the domestic selections is single vineyard, estate-grown, limited production wines from California, Oregon and Washington. French selections include vintage offerings from the finest Chateaux of Bordeaux, leading negociants and smaller estate producers in Burgundy, as well as top offerings from the Alsace, Loire and Rhone valleys. To accommodate a variety of food and wine pairings, the Charleston Grill offers more than 50 bottles of wine including six champagnes by the glass. To further assist guests in their selections, and ensure the highest level of service, Charleston Grill has six full-time Sommeliers on staff. |
MUSIC:
The Frank Duvall Jazz Trio appears Monday through Saturday evenings. Music hours are 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings, and 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday evenings. The group performs a diverse array of jazz standards featuring composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter plus original compositions by members of the Trio. The Trio consists of acoustic piano, acoustic bass, and saxophone during the week and a female vocalist who joins the Trio on the weekends.
The Bob Williams Duo performs on Sunday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and features a classical guitar and violin. |
PALMETTO GARDEN COURTYARD:
The Palmetto Garden Courtyard is open for al fresco cocktails and dinner, subject to availability and weather permitting. The focal point of this lush, tropical garden filled with local and exotic plants is a triple tiered water fountain.
